As a teacher, Sophie’s primary goal is to instill the love and excitement for music that she herself feels. The harp is a wonderful instrument for students of all ages, and is an excellent medium for expression, musicality, and individuality. Students are encouraged to reach their full potential by pursuing any genre that excites them, from pop to classical to celtic and folk traditions.

Sophie began harp lessons at the age of eight (before her feet could reach the ground from her harp bench!), then went on to receive two degrees in harp performance from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory in Toronto. Her principal teachers have included Judy Loman, Valerie Muzzolini, Jessica Zhou, and Isabelle Perrin. Now back in Seattle, Sophie hopes to pass their legacy of excellent instruction on to the next generation of harpists.

Sophie is a certified Suzuki harp teacher.
